Michael Kors Show

Chic, glamorous, classic. Those three words capture the fabulous looks that hit the runway at the Michael Kors show. Sparkly cocktail dresses, fur coats, and flowing gowns came together for a polished and sophisticated collection. Kors used black, white, and many shades of gray, but didn’t hide from color—there were several pops of cobalt blue and orange. And he didn’t shy away from metallics either. A highlight piece? His personal take on the trench: black patent leather with gorgeous leopard lining.

So polished! How sleek is this ensemble? A gray turtleneck dress cinched with a belt and paired with a classic trench:

Wow! That’s all that I have to say! This fringy gold metallic dress is drop dead gorgeous:

Very dramatic. I love the cobalt blue paried with black accessories:

Phenomenal fur:

Anna Sui Fall 2007 Collection

For Anna Sui’s fall 2007 collection, the look was edgy chic. While the bulk of the collection was dark and somber, there were punches of color featured here and there. She conveyed her eclectic vision by pairing bold patterned tunics with printed leggings and tights, and layering full-skirted frocks over classic solid turtlenecks. The intricate accessories stood out as well: Ornate belts, hats, necklaces, and even footwear set each look over-the-top. The best thing is about it all? Anna Sui’s fall line featured something for everyone.

Classic Anna; bright and colorful!

Totally wearable; dress it up or dress it down. Oh-so-cute!

Michelle Williams Chats with Glam

Michelle Williams from Destiny’s Child sat front row at the Carmen Marc Valvo show. We asked the sassy singer some style questions. We talked about her fashion week favorites, her go-to designers and her safe personal style!

What was your favorite piece?

Oohhhhhh. Let me open up my book here. Ummmm. Well. Okay. There was an ivory pleated crepe cocktail dress. My favorite is black, and I need to get out of that and wear some color, and I do wear color every now and then. But of course all of the beautiful dresses, you know that came out at the end. There was a beautiful ivory pleated kind of dress and the design in the back was so beautiful. And I just love how his designs are classy, sophisticated, but yet you still can feel sexy and hot without having to go too over the top.

Who are some of your other favorite designers?

Well some of my other favorite designs would definitely be Badgley Mischka. I went to a show to see a designer that I had never heard of. It was called G Star and they had some really, really hot looks for denim and you know if you like denim like that. But I’ve had a ball going to a lot of the shows: Evisu this morning, Tommy Hilfiger this afternoon - who it’s always good to see. When Aaliyah was still living, we knew Tommy Hilfiger because of her. Well I did. And now to see a collection of his, is great. And he’s been good to us throughout the years.

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style? Safe! Safe. I need to - kind of - you know, take some more risks by maybe wearing a color I didn’t think I’d ever wear– like a hot flaming yellow coat or something. You know, I’m seeing that even in the winter they’re saying "it’s cool to wear some nice colors. You don’t have to wait till spring to wear yellow or lilac."

So you’ll expand your style in baby steps, right?

Baby steps! And coming to these shows this week has made me definitely want to go home - I just moved - to purge what’s in those boxes, so that stuff that doesn’t need to go up in my closet doesn’t go.
